Tover Poster Presentation at AAIC 2023: Enhancing Nursing Home Care with Tovertafel

In July 2023, Tover participated once again in the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC), held this year in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The congress provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with dedicated care professionals and researchers who share our commitment to enhancing the quality of life of people with dementia. During this event, our Senior Researcher, Claire Bernards, Ph.D., presented the abstract of one of our most recent studies in collaboration with researchers from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Marijke de Vries MSc, Lizan Westenbrink MSc, Celeste Coolen MSc) through an engaging poster presentation titled ‘Warm technology and quality of nursing home care.’ This study shed light on the profound impact of the Tovertafel in fostering social connections, preserving dignity, and promoting self-reliance, all while bringing positive effects to nursing homes.

The study emphasized the importance of person-centered care, focusing on individual preferences and needs and building strong relationships to deliver compassionate and dignified support. The results showed that the Tovertafel, our warm technology, fosters trust and engagement among residents, enhances job satisfaction for care professionals, and creates a comforting, homelike environment for everyone. Notably, it contributes to more joyful family visits and can positively impact the physical aspects of care.
