Game description
Animal Letters
Learning to read starts with recognising letters. The players complete the names of recognisable animals by pointing out the correct letter. Got it right? Then the animal appears and makes a sound. The players can play against each other on opposite sides of the table, or they can play quietly together or by themselves on one side of the table.
Tips
Make the game more fun
- Talk about the animals you see and imitate the sound they make.
- Name all the letters that appear. Which one is the right one?
Level
Level 5
Level 5 games focus on the part of the brain that controls executive functions. Executive function is responsible for many skills, including planning and decision making. Note: level 5 games are too challenging for people in the middle and late stages of dementia.
